Boerne City Lake body recovery

The Boerne Fire Department Water Rescue Team recovered the body of a man at Boerne City Lake on Monday morning. Texas Game Wardens assisted. The victim is a 25 year old Afghani refugee. It’s believed the man walked into a shallow area and then reached a drop off where the water becomes 20 feet deep. The man went under the surface, and did not re-emerge. Bystanders tried to rescue the man but were unsuccessful. The initial 911 call was Sunday afternoon but after darkness fell, the rescue mission had to be suspended to Monday morning.
