Gillespie Co - Crabapple Fire update

Crabapple Fire Media Update #10 - As of Wednesday, March 19 at 4:30 PM

The Fredericksburg Fire/EMS Department in conjunction with crews from across the region, state and nation are continuing to manage the Crabapple Fire.

The Texas A&M Forest Service has kept the level of containment at 90 percent and the affected area has remained unchanged at an estimated 9,858 acres.

“We were prepared for the wind switch that took place this morning with crews stationed along the southern edge of the affected area,” Fredericksburg Fire Chief Lynn Bizzell said. “The wind is causing some flare ups today, but crews have been able to respond quickly and work to keep them inside the containment lines.”
