Today is Women Veterans Day. It’s the 75th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act signed into law this date in 1948 by President Harry S. Truman. It established the ability for women to enlist as regular, permanent members of the armed forces. Prior, women could only serve in reserve capacity.
