Halloween is on Friday. The Texas Department of Public Safety offers tips to keep Texas families safe during trick or treating. Ensure costumes are bright and reflective especially at night. Use face paint instead of masks. Use sidewalks and crosswalks. Carry glowsticks, flashlights or wearable lights for visibility. Travel with adult supervision and have them inspect the candy before eating. Never consume any items that don’t have a wrapper.

NWS - EF-1 tornado in Kendall Co Friday
National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down in Kendall County near Kendalia and crossed into Comal County on Friday. Winds were registered at 110 miles per hour. The tornado lasted about 20 minutes starting at 11:35pm and ending close to midnight. Trees fences, shingles, and power lines were damaged. No loss of life occurred. Bandera Canyonlands Alliance - 765 KV Transmission lines
Bandera Canyonlands Alliance is a group of landowners that protect the natural resources of the Hill Country. On Saturday, they had a meeting to address a variety of topics, especially the Howard-Solstice 765 KV Transmission line which will cross 14 counties in the hill country. Kerrville Host Lions give grants
Kerrville Host Lions have been busy giving grants to several Kerr County organizations from their Kerrville Flood Relief Fund. According to the Kerrville Host Lions Club Facebook page, Mo Ranch received a generous 75 thousand dollar grant while Camp Honey Creek received 50 thousand dollars earlier this month. In August, Comfort VFD received almost 24 thousand dollars from the organization. Ingram VFD received close to 15 thousand dollars.

Boerne City Council special meeting Monday
Buc-ees and Scooters Coffee on the agenda today in Boerne. City Council is having a public hearing regarding Scooters Coffee request for a drive-thru at a new site on IH-10. The council will then go into executive session for the deliberation of economic development negotiations related to the Buc-ee’s development. Council is seeking to amend the agreement with Buc-ee’s.
