Boerne woman arrested for vandalism. According to the Boerne Star, Claire Breitzeutz, 52 was arrested by Boerne Police last Tuesday and was charged with 3 counts of criminal mischief. Breitzeutz was caught on surveillance from 2 locations breaking windows on Main Street.

Governor Greg Abbott launched his campaign seeking his 4 th term as Texas Governor. Abbott launched it yesterday in Houston according to the Texas Tribune.

The National Museum of the Pacific War is hosting a Veterans Day commemoration ceremony on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The event will take place in the museum’s memorial courtyard. Brigadier General Kevin Jarrad, Commanding General of the 4 th  Marine Division is the guest speaker.

Salvation Army Kerrville Kroc Center releases fundraisers total. The 38 th Annual Circle of Service raised almost 48 thousand dollars at the September luncheon. In October, the 15 th  Annual Pumpkin Run raised almost 43 hundred dollars.

Heart of the Hills Camp for Girls in Hunt has new ownership. According to the camp’s website hohcamp.com trusteeship has passed from the Ragsdale family to Elisabeth and John Hay, camp parents. Camp Director and Owner Jane Ragsdale died during the July 4 th  flood.   John (Chief #78) is a longtime Stewart camper and the Hay children have attended camp at Heart of the Hills and Stewart. Bandera woman completes the Appalachian Trail. According to the Bandera Prophet, Corinne McMullan walked the 2100 mile trek along the ridge of the Appalachian Mountains. I took her over 4 months to complete the journey.

Hot Tax grant request applications are now being accepted in Fredericksburg. Entities that received funding in 2025 are required to submit an Annual Financial Report by Friday, Nov. 21, which is the application deadline. Funding is for events happening in calendar year 2026. The  23rd Annual Veterans Day Celebration in Bandera  is  Saturday, November 8, 2025 , to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. The celebration starts at 9:30am with Family and military displays at the Bandera Courthouse grounds, followed by Guest Speaker:  Retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Steven Salazar at 10:30am. The Parade down Main Street rolls at noon. Afterwards for veterans and their spouses is a free BBQ lunch.

Camp Waldemar for Girls celebrated their 100 th birthday over the weekend. According to the West Kerr Current, over a thousand people attended the camp in Hunt.

Hunting scam in Kerrville according to the Kerrville Police Department. Reportedly, individuals are going door to door , falsely identifying themselves as Texas A&M employees and asking residents to shoot deer in their yard to test them for Chronic Wasting Disease. After responding to community needs due to the flood, the Heart of the Hills VFW Post 1480 in Kerrville is finally re-opening to the public after clean-up and repair.
