Kerr County and Federal Law Enforcement team up to conduct a sex offender verification outside of incorporated areas. According to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, those violating their court ordered terms were arrested. 2 were found to be non-compliant. Another was found with a warrant in another county. Traffic diverted through Comfort yesterday afternoon as a major accident closed down lanes on IH-10 West at Mile Marker 524 according to Texas DPS. Preliminary reports indicate 3 people died. 2 children and 1 adult. Another adult and child were injured during the accident. The 2 were airlifted. Siren malfunction in San Marcos. The outdoor warning sirens did not activate despite San Marcos being located on the edge of a Tornado Warning Friday night that began in Blanco County.  The City of San Marcos put out a post on their Facebook page that they were aware of the siren failure. 3 High Transmission lines are going to be constructed running through and around the Hill Country to provide electricity to the Permian Basin. National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down in Kendall County near Kendalia and crossed into Comal County on Friday. Winds were registered at 110 miles per hour. The tornado lasted about 20 minutes starting at 11:35pm and ending close to midnight. Trees   fences, shingles, and power lines were damaged. No loss of life occurred. Bandera Canyonlands Alliance is a group of landowners that protect the natural resources of the Hill Country. On Saturday, they had a meeting to address a variety of topics, especially the Howard-Solstice 765 KV Transmission line which will cross 14 counties in the hill country. Kerrville Host Lions have been busy giving grants to several Kerr County organizations from their Kerrville Flood Relief Fund. According to the Kerrville Host Lions Club Facebook page, Mo Ranch received a generous 75 thousand dollar grant while Camp Honey Creek received 50 thousand dollars earlier this month. In August, Comfort VFD received almost 24 thousand dollars from the organization. Ingram VFD received close to 15 thousand dollars.

Buc-ees and Scooters Coffee on the agenda today in Boerne. City Council is having a public hearing regarding Scooters Coffee request for a drive-thru at a new site on IH-10. The council will then go into executive session for the deliberation of economic development negotiations related to the Buc-ee’s development. Council is seeking to amend the agreement with Buc-ee’s.  Executive session discussions are not open to the public.

On Saturday, the Bandera Canyonlands Alliance had a meeting with presentations on a variety of topics. One of them was the response to the July 4 th  flood. Kerrville’s Urban Trail System’s Creative Crosswalks Program comes to an end. According to KSAT, Kerrville Assistant City Manager Michael Hornes said a plan is in the making to erase the 3 painted crosswalks in downtown Kerrville. The city has just a few weeks to get rid of the Guadalupe River themed art.
