A 1.6-mile reclaimed-water pipeline in Kerrville to send treated effluent into Elm Creek and farther downstream into Nimitz Lake.  The planned pipeline could dump up to 500 thousand gallons a day of treated wastewater into the surface waters at Elm Creek Park, flowing into Nimitz Lake, a part of the Guadalupe River. The reclaimed water pipeline would cost a little over 3 million dollars. Shooting in Bulverde Monday morning, March 30th leaves one dead and another injured. A student, 15 at the Hill Country Preparatory High School opened fire wounding a teacher and then took their own life. Comal ISD officials are closing the school today and will have counselors available at Mammen Family Public Library in Bulverde from 10am to 2pm. Helotes Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Intoxication Manslaughter on Texas 46.  Robert Delmon Gray, 57, plead guilty to Intoxication Manslaughter, pursuant to a plea agreement. The collision occurred on January 5, 2025. Gray will have to serve at least half of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. According to the investigation conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Gray was driving a white Ford F-750 septic tank truck in the eastbound lane.  Vid

It was a beautiful day for a ribbon cutting on Saturday as Ingram’s renovated Little League Fields opened for a day of baseball. Kerr County’s Emergency Manager to retire. William ‘Dub’ Thomas last day is next Tuesday. Kerr County Commissioners will discuss the hiring process today for a replacement as the position is not an elected one. It’s finally completed and you’re invited to see the finished facility of the new Kerr County Animal Control.  KCAC invites the public to a ceremony, ribbon cutting and walk-through celebrating the completion and opening this Friday at 1pm. The building site is at 199 Spur 100 in Kerrville. After the ribbon cutting, the public is invited to tour the 15,000-square-foot structure. Staff are moving soon into the newly completed complex.

Work continues on the Cibolo Creek Bridge in Fair Oaks Ranch today through Friday. Traffic to be reduced to one lane under two-way traffic control from 8am to 5pm each day. Flaggers and law enforcement will assist travelers with traffic control. Workers will mill existing pavement and placing the overlay.  Expect delays through the work zone.

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick urging the Department of State Health Services to not renew the license for Camp Mystic for this summer. Patrick wrote in a letter to DSHS Commissioner Jennifer Shuford. “It would be naive to allow Camp Mystic to return to normal operations before all of the facts are known.”  25 campers and 2 counselors died along with the owner Dick Eastland during the flood of July 4th.  The camp’s license is valid until March 6, according to the suit. The  Center Point Volunteer Fire Department  helped ranchers affected by the latest wildfires by sending several loads of hay. The VFD wanted to pay forward the kindness they received during this summer’s tragic floods through Rancher Navy, a 501C3.
