Bandera - ordinances

Bandera’s Mayor Rebeca Gibson used her statutory authority to oppose city council actions in May to adopt new noise ordinances during last week’s council meeting. Also, Gibson opposed vendor requirements for trade/cottage food businesses. Despite her effort, the city council again approved the ordinances with some revision. The maximum sound level in residential and non-residential areas is 65 decibels. Up from 63 dbs. Quiet hours is 55 dbs. The weekend changes to 75 dbs Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday. Gibson requested 85dbs. Food vendor permit period changed from 8 months to a year. Reports the Bandera Prophet.
