Bandera proclaims Saturday as Smithsonian Institution Day in coordination with the launch of the nationally recognized “Museum on Main Street” traveling exhibition, Crossroads: Change in Rural America. Only seven communities in Texas were selected to host the exhibit. Bandera is one of those communities. It’s also the last town on the tour. The exhibit debuts Saturday with a ribbon cutting ceremony 9:30am. at Bandera Middle School on Cherry Street. Opening Ceremonies start at 10:30. Bandera is hosting the traveling exhibition from Saturday until July 26, the National Day of the American Cowboy.
