Burnet - Residents testify in Austin against quarry

Burnet residents against a planned quarry near Camp Longhorn were in Austin last week according to highlandernews.com. 2 dozen residents testified before the Texas Committee on Environmental Regulation in support of House Bill 5151 sponsored by State Rep Terry Wilson. The bill would place limits on where rock quarries could operate around the state. State Rep Ellen Troxclair’s House Bill 3482 is similar. Troxclair’s bill would  allow the LCRA or the TCEQ to conduct a study confirming that a proposed site would not harm nearby lakes or state parks.” (photo KXAN)
