Comfort - East Point Energy calls off BESS plans

East Point Energy is officially calling off their plans for a BESS facility in Comfort.  The company states 'shifting strategic priorities.' State Representative Ellen Troxclair shared the following update about the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).  Troxclair said “This was a team effort, led by a united community. We consistently demonstrated to anyone who would listen that this small rural town, with a volunteer fire department, limited water, and no egress, was an unsafe location for large scale battery storage.
