Comfort - shooting at local motel

Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer with a deadly weapon in Comfort. Sunday early morning several males were reportedly fighting with shots fired in the parking lot of the Executive Inn Motel, at N HWY 87.  A Kendall County Deputy arrived on scene and was fired in the parking lot. The Deputy was able to return fire striking the lone gunman. Deputies from Kendall and Kerr as well as DPS Troopers also responded to the scene. Kendall County EMS arrived to treat the wounded suspect who was then transported by helicopter to a San Antonio hospital in critical condition. The Deputy was not injured. The scene remains under investigation.
