A DPS Fallen Officers memorial was dedicated Wednesday in Austin. The memorial is in front of the Texas Department of Public Safety. Wednesday was National Peace Officers Memorial Day. The memorial consists of a bronze statue of a DPS trooper surrounded by 5 pink granite panels. The 2.4 million dollar cost was funded by several foundations and public donations.
