A second Battery Energy Storage System or BESS allegedly to be built in Comfort. Ellen Troxclair, Texas State Representative, District 19 sent a letter of opposition to the CEO of East Point Energy in Virginia. A 250 MegaWatt battery storage facility is planned for 10 acres on Flat Rock Creek Road near the LCRA sub-station. Representative Troxclair stated that the volunteer fire department is not equipped to handle any emergencies there. The BESS would be built on a dead end road posing safety concerns for area residents. Plus limited water resources would also be of concern in case of a fire.
