ERCOT is using their new alert system, TXANS to issue notifications. There are 4 levels of notification alerts. Two have been issued this week. The ERCOT Weather Watch and the Voluntary Conservation notices which were issued due to extreme heat and forecasted demand. Residents are asked to voluntarily reduce their power usage between the hours of 4pm to 8pm if safe to do so. To sign up for alerts, visit ercot.com.
