George Strait’s manager of 45 years has passed away. Erv Woolsey was 80 years old. Woolsey died yesterday following surgery complications in Florida. Besides managing George Strait, Woolsey also managed LeeAnn Womack, Ronnie Milsap, Clay Walker, and Dierks Bentley. He was instrumental in getting Strait signed with MCA Records in 1981 where George remains today. Woolsey led a storied career.
