I have updated details on the robbery and homicide at the Kwikchek in Fredericksburg. The customer shot during the robbery late Tuesday night has died. He’s 48 year old, Arthur Cortez a Fredericksburg resident. Late Tuesday, close to midnight, a man entered the convenience store on South State Highway 16, went to the back of the store, returned wearing a mask and shot off a weapon, hitting Cortez. He demanded money from the clerk and took off on foot. Photos and video of the suspect on The City of Fredericksburg Texas Facebook page lead to the arrest of a suspect. It only took 24 hours. Arwes Singko Rapet, a 22 year old Asian male arrested at a local motel. He is charged with murder and is currently held at the Gillespie County Jail.
