Gillespie Co - Crabapple update #11

Local crews continue to monitor the area affected by the Crabapple Fire. The fire is 95% contained and has impacted 9,858 acres, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. Late yesterday, officials made the decision to ramp down state assets on site in Willow City, Texas.  According to Fredericksburg Fire Chief Lynn Bizzell “Overnight, the winds died down and there were no major flare ups,”. Bizzell also thanked all state and federal partners for their assistance. Be aware of an Extreme Fire Danger Alert.  Be extra cautious with anything that could cause a spark. The area remains in extreme fire danger. Fredericksburg Fire EMS is asking citizens to share your photos and or videos. Email them to crabapplefire@fbgtx.org.
