A Gillespie County deputy investigating a vehicle on South State Highway 16 observed the smell of marijuana and called in a K9 team resulting in a positive alert. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the deputy found cocaine in the passenger’s purse. The woman admitted to having additional contraband concealed on her person. Also, found in the search were two loaded handguns. The female, 41 from Ingram was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. At the jail, personnel recovered several plastic baggies of cocaine from her person. Plus, a package of ecstasy. She was then charged for 2 offenses of Manufacture or Delivery of a controlled substance. The driver was not criminally charged and was released.
