Kendall Co - Prop A land purchase seeking support

Kendall County Commissioner Chad Carpenter is seeking support at Commissioners Court for the purchase of 120 acres using Prop A funds. 70 acres would be in the flood plain on North Creek Road plus another 50 acres. The property is part of 342 acres called North Creek Ranch. The item is on tomorrow’s agenda. The 70 acres would be used for flood control such as a detention dam. The 50 acres would be used for community sports facilities. The cost would be 2.1 million dollars. There is also development on the Ranch for about 20 homes. The Kendall County Water Control and Improvement District #1 has negotiated to purchase the groundwater rights which would service the 50 acres.
