Kerr Co hear from consultants on Eagle Ridge Road

Kerr County Commissioners heard from Tetra Tech Consulting at this week’s meeting regarding road safety analysis at Eagle Ridge Road. 2 Tetra Tech representatives presentation included a speed study, intersection assessment, safety study and sight distance analysis. Eagle Ridge Road is currently classified as a paved country lane. It intersects with State Highway 173. The Twin Creeks development in the area is a point of contention with current residents in regards to safety due to extra traffic activity coming from 98 houses being built on Eagle Ridge Road.  Tetra Tech’s short term, mid-term and long term recommendations include changing the speed limit to 40 mph from 45, road repairs, updating signage, striping and road reclassification. Costs were broken down at each phase with the highest estimated cost of 440 thousand dollars for the long term recommendations.
