A new resolution in Kerr County in the fight against Battery Energy Storage Systems. The Commissioners Court unanimously approved the resolution requiring BESS developers to submit full documentation demonstrating compliance with all applicable state or national safety and fire codes and standards and all laws and orders pertaining to critical infrastructure security for the court's approval prior to initiating construction. The commissioners also unanimously approved contracting a part time fire marshal for Kerr County and to adopt a fire marshal permit and fee schedule for the same, similar to the schedule used by Kendall County. By having a fire marshal the developers will now have to pay a significant permit fee (~$50,000 for a typical BESS project) for the fire marshal and the technical expert, Dr. Robert Steele to review their plans and documentatio
