Kerr Co - Tax Rate and Budget

Tax Rate and budget for 2025-2026 adopted by Kerr County Commissioners last night. The 4 county commissioners approved with Judge Rob Kelly abstaining. Kelly said he wasn’t happy with this year’s budget.  He also said, “I think we’re spending way too much money out of the fund balance ... those are revenues we will not have next year.” He said next year the tax rate will have to be raised significantly. Kelly said that the tax rate is not what is raising taxes but appraisals. The new tax rate is 40.24 cents per $100 dollar valuation.
