USDA ribbon cutting in Kerr County this week. Community leaders joined employees at the opening of the Knipling-Bushland U.S. Livestock Insects Research Laboratory. The updated facility on Hwy 16 known for its work on eradication of screwworms in cattle decades ago, is bringing cutting-edge work on flies and ticks after decades of local research. The laboratory will develop new tools to protect cattle health, support ranch productivity, and help keep destructive pests like New World Screwworm away from U.S. herds.
