Kerrville - driver in Saturday fatality identified

The driver involved in the fatality accident on Saturday in Kerrville has been identified. Jose Alberto Montes, 27 of Kerrville died when his pickup flipped over as he was fleeing police. A Kerrville police officer attempted to stop Montes on Harper Road for having a headlight out. Montes sped off, lost control and hit a parked vehicle in the 1100 block of Lake Drive. He then crashed into a telephone pole and flipped his pickup. The police officer called EMS and rendered aid to Montes who died at the scene.
