Legal assistance available to flood victims

Texans impacted by recent flooding and need legal assistance can now receive aid through the Texas Access to Justice Foundation. The Foundation is the largest state-based funding source for civil legal aid and have  $1.8 million dollars in funding for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid to provide legal services to Texans impacted by the recent Texas floods. The funding comes from the Texas Legislature and Stand with Santos, an initiative led by the State Bar of Texas President Santos Vargas to raise support for legal aid disaster relief from the legal community and the Fulbright & Jaworski Foundation. For information, visit Texas RioGrande Legal Aid at trla.org/help.

It’s great to see strong disaster-relief support like this. When systems are organized and accessible—whether it’s legal aid in Texas or welfare IDs like Samagra ID in other regions—it really shows how much impact structured help can make for people in crisis. Glad Texans have a clear path to assistance through TRLA.
