Property Tax Cut Bill goes to Abbott

The tax cut bill has been sent to Governor Greg Abbott for signature. The Texas House and Senate passed an 18 billion dollar property tax bill after months of debate. At the last minute, Democrats unsuccessfully tried to add renter benefits and public education dollars. In order for the cuts to take effect, voters will have to approve the package during November elections.
