No more annual vehicle inspections in Texas. But not the fee. The 7.50 would be added to the cost of registering your vehicle. Texas is one of the few states requiring a vehicle inspection when registering for a new tag. The bill to eliminate the inspection has passed the Texas Legislature and has been sent to the governor for signature. If signed, it will become law September 1st.
