Texas plans to use artificial intelligence to grade this year’s STAAR test reports the Texas Tribune. The use of AI will save the state 15 million dollars by using ChatGPT to give initial scores instead of using human graders. Last year 6 thousand scorers were hired, now with AI only 2 thousand are needed. The Texas Education Agency or TEA is rolling out an automated scoring engine for open ended questions.
