Texas - camp permits

Department of Safety and Health Services participated in a Summer Camp round table. According to President & CEO of Texas Lions Camp of Kerrville, Stephen S. Mabry, he is assured that the licensing body for camp permits are working very long hours and as quickly as they can to respond to the Texas Camps that have made application for licensure.   Numerous camps across the state discussed their interpretations of the Rules resulting from the Camp Health and Safety Act of 2025.  Also, a status report of how the licensing of camps is progressing, the Youth Camp Program Coordinator for Licensing says there have been seventeen Texas camps licensed for this summer of the 370 camps that were licensed on July 4, 2025.
