Texas - IRS Direct File

Eligible taxpayers in Texas can file for free with IRS Direct File. The service is web-based, it’s available in English and Spanish, and offers guided help for preparing and filing a federal tax return from a smartphone, tablet or computer. The deadline to file a 2024 tax return and pay any tax owed is April 15. Direct File though is available until October 15th, for people who may need additional time to file. Also, IRS Direct File is available for taxpayers who lived and worked in Texas for all of 2024.
