The Texas armadillo now has a new scientific name. Formerly known has Dasypus Novemcinctus, it is now Dasypus Mexicanus, the Mexican longnosed armadillo. The Journal for Systemic Biology declared there are 4 species of armadillos and thus the name was changed. (photo: Tyler Stewart, iNaturalist)
