TX Hill Country - fawning season

In the Texas Hill Country, White-tailed deer fawning season is underway.  Texas Parks and Wildlife reminds well-meaning Texans to not pick up fawns. They are not abandoned. Does will often leave their fawns hidden for hours at a time while they feed, returning periodically.  Removing these animals from the wild can do more harm than good.  Under Texas law, it is unlawful to take, capture, possess, or attempt to relocate wildlife except as allowed by state regulations.  If a wild animal appears sick, injured or orphaned, contact TPWD.
