35 balloons to be launched Friday and Saturday to collect data during the eclipse. A notice from the Uvalde County of Emergency Management stated that the balloons are being launched by the University of Houston near Utopia. They are to track over Medina County heading towards San Antonio. They are disposable, will burst with no harm to wildlife. And will be about 100 thousand feet in the air when they do.
