Updates on IH-10 fatalities near Comfort

I have Texas Highway Patrol updates regarding the two fatalities from Monday’s accidents on IH-10 near Comfort. A woman who was trying to divert traffic from the crash caused by a pickup and 18 wheeler was hit by another 18 wheeler who veered onto the median trying to avoid the accident. She died at the scene. She’s been identified as Cynthia Garcia Marker from Phoenix. Another fatality was truck driver Rigoberto Alejandro Rivera of San Antonio. Rivera rolled his truck tractor and trailer while navigating the turnaround at Highway 289 and IH-10. Both accidents shut IH-10 down eastbound and westbound for close to 7 hours.
