A tree counter committed fraud against the City of Austin. Former employee Desarae Ybarra of the Austin Parks and Rec Department turned in falsified timecards for 6 months. Ybarra received over 11 thousand dollars in pay for work not done. She worked as an IT Geospatial Technician in charge of updating tree inventory data for 300 parks. Her 2 supervisors thought at least one of them was monitoring her timecards.
