Boerne - drowning at the Lake

An incident on Sunday early evening led to the evacuation of Boerne City Lake. Dispatch received an initial 911 call around 6:30 p.m. regarding a child who was in the water and did not resurface.  According to Boerne Fire the child drowned.  Recovery operations resumed this morning. Witnesses said two children were in the water and both began to struggle. A bystander was able to retrieve one child but when they went back for the second child they could not locate them in the water. Multiple first responders replied to the call. The incident is under investigation.
