Boerne’s Top Dispatcher of the Year is Stephen Scott. Boerne dispatch serves all public safety organizations in Kendall County, including seven fire departments, EMS, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Fair Oaks Ranch Police, and Boerne Police.
It’s great to see dispatchers getting recognition like this because their work often happens quietly behind the scenes. Reading about Stephen Scott being named Dispatcher of the Year reminded me of a community safety talk I attended where a dispatcher explained how every second matters during emergencies. Around that same time I was juggling heavy coursework and even joked with a friend about wanting to pay someone to do my class for me just to keep up.
