Boerne - Vet receives French Legion honor

103 Year old World War II Veteran receives recognition from the French Legion of Honor in Boerne. Pedro Vera, a World War II Army Veteran received the award for his service in the nation’s liberation from German occupation. The Legion of Honor is the highest recognition France bestows upon Americans who served in WWII. It is also the country’s oldest such recognition having been instituted by Napoleon Bonapart in 1802. Vera participated in the invasion at Normandy. Vera who lives in San Antonio was escorted by Boerne Fire and Boerne PD to the ceremony at Boerne Plaza yesterday
