Cantaloupe from Mexico recall

Health officials update the reports of a salmonella outbreak in cantaloupe in the US and Canada. The outbreak was detected in October. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is advising people still not to eat pre-cut cantaloupe if they aren’t sure of the brand. A list of pre-cut cantaloupe brands to avoid are on the cdc.gov/salmonella website. 3 people in the US have died from eating contaminated cantaloupe. Whole cantaloupes with identifying stickers of “Malichita” or “Rudy,” with the number “4050”, and “Product of Mexico/produit du Mexique”.  On Friday, a melon packing plant in Mexico was shut down.
