Last night, the Comfort community in a packed cafeteria met with the Key Capture Energy team. Key Capture explained the benefits of the Battery Energy Storage System they plan to build in Comfort. Topics included economic benefits, tax abatements, tax revenue to the community, job creation, safety and more. Comfort residents politely and strongly suggested the company go elsewhere. The 20 year land lease has been in effect since 2019. The community will now campaign to the Kendall County Commissioners to deny the tax abatements.
