Fredericksburg EMS and multiple volunteer fire departments continue to work on containing the Crabapple fire. 9500 acres have burned since last night. Only 55 percent has been contained. The fire started early Saturday afternoon near 8700 Lower Crabapple Road, 11 miles north of downtown Fredericksburg. The wildfire moved east across Highway 16 North due to high winds. To help with recovery efforts from the Crabapple Fire, Gillespie County has partnered with the OneStar Foundation, Rebuild Texas to establish the Crabapple Disaster Fund. At this time, this is the best way to help.
