Lease agreement terminated between The City of Fredericksburg and the Former Texas Ranger’s Foundation according to the Standard Radio Post. On Tuesday, during executive session the City Council gave instructions to the city manager and city attorney to complete the termination paperwork by today for default of the agreement and lease. In 2011, the Former Texas Rangers Foundation signed a lease agreement with the city to build an event center and museum. In 2020, the timeline hit a snag with Covid. The council heard from the new Chairman Norm Nevins who requested a stay on the agreement until June 2025. City council made a decision to extend the ground lease for 60 days through February 5, 2025. The door is open to present a new plan at that time.
