Gillespie Co - Crabapple Fire contained 100%

Fredericksburg’s Crabapple Fire has been 100 percent contained, officials announced late Friday.  Assisting during the nearly 150 hours the fire burned were Fredericksburg Fire/EMS Department, Willow City Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Gillespie County and Texas Hill Country fire departments, the Texas A&M Forest Service, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and federal assets.  The Crabapple Fire was determined to have started last Saturday around 1 p.m. at the roadside near the 8700 block of Lower Crabapple Road. The cause is undetermined.
