Gillespie County Landfills are almost full and glass bottles may be to blame. A non-profit group Empty Harvest wants to help by recycling the glass for re-use. There’s 60 wineries, breweries and distilleries in the area and crates of bottles go into the landfill. Currently there is no glass recycling. Empty Harvest is seeking 400 thousand dollars for startup and land to use for the recycling project. The City and County are in talks to help Empty Harvest. Reports the Standard Radio Post.
