An ongoing water dispute in Western Gillespie County continues to plague residents. Since 2022, about 20 Tivydale residents have lost access to Pedernales River flow. A private citizen has dammed up a portion of the river on their land and left surrounding residents high and dry. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and local game wardens say the problem is in the jurisdiction of the TCEQ. Supposedly a dam was already on the river and the owner of the land re-enforced it. No suitable resolution has taken place. Reports the Standard Radio Post.Â
