HCA Healthcare’s Methodist hospital reports a recent patient data breach. HCA owns Methodist Hill Country in Fredericksburg. The company issued a press release detailing the access of patient information including names, addresses and appointment dates. Apparently, the data was made available by an unknown and unauthorized party on an online forum. A possible 1 million records could be affected. According to HCA, information was accessed from an external storage location.
