Mixed race Texas Historical figure Hendrick Arnold has a new park and cemetery named after him near the Medina River where’s he’s buried. His name also graces the Bertha Tryon/Hendrick Arnold Black Cemetery in Bandera. Although he didn’t live in Bandera he was added to the cemetery’s name for his service to the Texian Army as a scout. After the Texas Revolution he resided in Southwest Bexar County. The park has an opening date of July.
