Kendall Co Fair Assoc concerns

Concerns about Kendall County Fair Association leadership leads to a meeting this Tuesday to address various issues that several disgruntled people have with the pageant. According to the Boerne Star, the concerns started when former Queen Makenna Jureczki’s microphone was cut off as she was airing grievances with the pageant during her farewell speech. The president of the Fair Association, Wes Fleming relayed to Jureczki’s mother that the board asked for revisions to the speech before it was to be presented which was revised and submitted but according to Jureczki’s mother, a response was not received.  As the former Queen was making her speech, the mic was cut off so she stepped around the mic. Grievances included the purchase of expensive gowns by the court that were barely worn, a limited event schedule, the safety and treatment of the contestants and inconsistencies in competition procedures.
