Kerr Co dam application causes concern

A recent dam application for the North Fork of the Guadalupe River is under scrutiny. Kerr County residents and water alliances are opposed to the application details. Flat Rock Creek LLC. needs to remove or disturb large cubic yards of stream bed and sedimentary materials within Flat Rock Creek. It’s to build a low water crossing and a 4 and a half foot high vertical dam to collect water plus allow access to private property owned by the applicant. The application was filed in June, due to the efforts of Representative Andrew Murr, a 30 day comment extension has been filed. An Eco expert believes the project is detrimental to aquatic systems.
