Kerr County Sheriff’s Office will receive funding from a new Texas state law. Reports the Daily Times. Senate Bill 22 provides grants to sheriff’s departments in counties with less than 300 thousand residents. Counties with 50 thousand to 300 thousand residents are eligible for 500 thousand dollars. Sheriff Larry Leitha says his department will receive the 500 K. It will help with retention, plus help give pay raises to officers and staff.
